Swim Team Breaks 10 School Records, Wins the ISST Championships

What a wonderful team performance. This was not about our superstars, it was not about our record breakers, it was not about our club swimmers. We won because our middle school girls and middle school boys outperformed themselves.

Due to the complicated nature of the ISST countback system, the 3 and 4 points scored in those age groups were better than ASH's lowest results of 6 and 2. Two new and exceptional records were set in the Girls' HS Medley relay and the Mixed HS Medley relay, which demolished the previous marks by two seconds.

Jonathan, after the disappointment of not making the 100 fly final, bounced back to help the Boys HS medley relay to third, then won the 100 free and placed in the 50 back from an outside lane with a new school record. Adrienne, who did not want to swim the 100 fly, swam it twice in one day and finished a creditable 5th — selfless points for the team.

By the numbers: ten new school records, nine first places, thirteen second places, six third places, and 87% personal bests (68 of 78).
